TSTI's Courses at NASA
TSTI has provided education and training to NASA for over a decade. Today we are a major contributor to NASA's Academy of Program/Project and Engineering Leadership (APPEL). TSTI teaches large portions of APPEL's Level 1(Foundations of Aerospace at NASA) and Level 2 (Project Management and Systems Engineering) Core Courses. In addition, eight of our courses are APPEL Electives including EXPO, SMSDO, MMSD, SMSDO LAB, SVV, IAN, TPDMO and I-AERO.
These courses are TSTI's standard courses, modified to meet the specific needs of NASA engineers, program managers, and other technical personnel.
Exploration Systems and Space Operations (EXPO) is a version of our Human Spaceflight course.
Science Missions and Systems Design and Operations (SMSDO) is a version of our Designing Space Missions and Systems course.
Mars Mission and Systems Design Exercise (MMSD) and SMSDO-LAB are versions of our Design Exercise.
Introduction to Aerospace at NASA (IAN) contains components of our Understanding Space and Introduction to Aeronautics course.
Transition, Product Delivery, and Mission Operations (TPDMO) Course includes our Cost Effective Mission Operations course.
Program Management and Systems Engineering (PM&SE) contains portions of our Applied Space Systems Engineering course (under development) and Cost Effective Mission Operations courses.
Our Space Systems Verification and Validation course was developed by TSTI at NASA's behest.
Descriptions of these courses and APPEL's master calendar can be found at http://appel.nasa.gov under the "curriculum" tab. NASA employees may also contact their center training offices for funded course offerings.
