Satellite Operations: A Day in the Life of a Satellite Operator

Visibility into the actual operations of space systems from the console operator’s view.

This exciting, fast-paced two-day course walks through all the factors that influence the day in the life of a space operator.  This includes all the issues they face daily in orbital dynamics, space environmental effects, mission function failure, data processing and especially LADO (launch, anomaly and disposal operations).  This course emphasizes the space operations arena, both DoD and commercial, with examples throughout.  Includes case studies and an exercise.

  • Cultivated an understanding of the role of the humans in satellite operations

Who should Attend

This course is intended for professionals and students involved in space systems operations, including program managers, mission operations managers, spacecraft engineers and designers, as well as operators.  Emphasis is placed on recognizing where lessons learned are important and where experience is critical to mission success.
