NASA is still a world leader in space exploration, but as the possibility of non-astronaut travel to space becomes more of a possibility, private companies are getting in on the action. Founded in 2002, SpaceX is one such company helping to revolutionize space technology. By designing, manufacturing, and launching advanced rockets and spacecraft, SpaceX hopes to be a catalyst for humans to live on planets besides Earth.

SpaceX Launches Again!

Since SpaceX was established, they’ve launched three space vehicles and grown to employ over 4,000 people. If you’re interested in gaining employment with a company like SpaceX, TSTI’s aerospace training programs can help! More about that later. For now, let’s take a look at some exciting news about the latest SpaceX launch, which is scheduled for today, May 26th!

Today’s launch will be the fifth one for SpaceX in 2016, and its goal will be to place the Asian telecommunications satellite Thaicom 8 into orbit. “Once in orbit, the satellite will provide TV and Internet services to parts of India, Thailand and eastern Africa,” reports TechCrunch.

Even More Launches Planned For Next Year

In March, SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell said the company expects to conduct 16 more launches this year, including an inaugural Falcon Heavy rocket in November, and would accelerate its launch rhythm in 2017, according to SpaceNews.com.

This type of rapid deployment is made possible by SpaceX’s ability to attract the best talent in the aerospace engineering industry. If you’d like to be part of history in the making, our aerospace training programs can help to prepare you for positions at SpaceX and similar companies.
